1) Bass Underwriting - Property & Casualty Claims Manager - Plantation, FL
BASS UNDERWRITERS, a well established commercial property and casualty insurance MGA specializing in excess and surplus lines, is seeking an experienced property and casualty adjuster for the position of Claims Manager. This individual will be responsible for effectively handling commercial claims, including coverage review, liability analysis, reserve setting, vendor management, reinsurance reporting and recovery. This position will work closely with third party administrators and Lloyd’s of London broker, as well as domestic carriers, to ensure the maintenance of high quality relationships.

Technical position requirements include a college degree or equivalent experience, a minimum of two year property claims adjusting experience demonstrating progressive levels of responsibility, experience in excess and surplus lines insurance and competency with all types of commercial and residential insurance, ability to interpret routine policy contracts, the ability to continually review and analyze systems and processes to improve work flow and increase efficiency through application of technology, strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills, demonstrated functional and technical proficiency in the effective handling of complex telephonic and written correspondence with claimants, attorneys, fiduciaries, and/or insurance regulatory agencies.

Managerial requirements include proven leadership and multitasking skills, the ability to lead towards the achievement of department and corporate goals, demonstrated ability to provide sound technical guidance, direction, and coaching to staff on new and existing claim files, as well as train and mentor employees, expertise in Microsoft Office (word, excel, outlook) Essentials (ImageRight experience helpful), and excellent planning and organizational skills.

Commercial claim experience a plus. 5+ years prior claims handling experience a plus. Bachelor degree or equivalent experience desired. Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills are critical. Excellent planning and organizational skills are required. Ability to work independently. Valid auto driver’s license and safe driving record required. GAB Robins is a Drug Free work environment. Florida 544 or 520 license required. Demonstrated proficiency in construction estimating and repair techniques, Xactimate and MSB. Computer literate, experience working with computer estimating software. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including an excellent phone manner.
